ZetaCell Butyl

Large diameter beaded agarose immobilized with butyl ligand. A cross-linked resin for SMART™ HIC chromatography.

Description

Streamlined HIC Separation Using Butyl Ligand SMART™ Resin

ZetaCell Butyl from emp BIOTECH is a hydrophobic interaction chromatography (HIC) resin engineered for robust and scalable protein purification using SMART™ Chromatography. The resin features large, cross-linked 250 µm agarose beads functionalized with butyl ligands, enabling salt-dependent purification of hydrophobic biomolecules under mild conditions.
Thanks to the proprietary SMART™ resin architecture, ZetaCell Butyl supports unhindered flow of cell-containing feedstocks and minimizes clogging or backpressure in packed bed formats. It is ideal for integration into continuous or batch HIC workflows where consistency, scalability, and compatibility with high-throughput systems are essential.

Performance Highlights
  • Large 250 µm cross-linked agarose beads
  • Functionalized with aliphatic butyl (C₄H₉) ligand
  • Designed for salt-driven retention and elution
  • Compatible with SMART™ Chromatography platforms
  • Excellent flow properties, even with cell-containing feeds
  • Operates efficiently in preparative and process-scale HIC
