High-Performance SMART™ IEX with Weak Cation Exchange Resin
ZetaCell SP from emp BIOTECH is a robust strong cation exchange (CEX) resin specifically developed for SMART™ ion exchange chromatography. Based on 250 µm cross-linked agarose beads derivatized with sulphopropyl (SP) ligands, it supports efficient binding of positively charged biomolecules under a range of process conditions. Its macro-bead format enables unhindered flow of cell-containing feedstocks—ideal for continuous bioprocessing and scalable separations.
Engineered for radial flow columns, ZetaCell SP tolerates high flow rates (≥ 2000 cm/h), operates under pressures up to 3 bar, and is chemically stable across a wide pH range. Its physical robustness and hydrophilic surface make it suitable for demanding bioprocessing applications where performance, lifetime, and flexibility are critical.
