Optimized Hydrophobic Interaction Chromatography with Butyl SMART™ Resin
SMART Chromatography™ Butyl is a ready-to-use column prepacked with ZetaCell Butyl resin, a large-diameter, highly cross-linked agarose functionalized with aliphatic butyl (C₄H₉) ligands. This configuration supports hydrophobic interaction chromatography (HIC) separations of proteins and other biomolecules under salt-dependent binding conditions.
The ZetaCell base matrix was specifically developed for SMART Chromatography™, emp BIOTECH’s patented platform that enables direct processing of unclarified feed streams. The robust agarose beads are designed to allow unhindered passage of cells and debris through the packed bed, facilitating primary capture without prior clarification steps.
