Description
High-purity amine-reactive rhodamine dye for red fluorescence labeling
This amine-reactive red fluorescent dye is a mixed isomer NHS ester of carboxytetramethylrhodamine (TAMRA). It is widely used for covalent labeling of proteins and alkylamino-modified nucleic acids. TAMRA conjugates exhibit a fluorescence quantum yield approximately one-fourth that of fluorescein, yet often appear brighter due to strong excitation by the 546 nm mercury-arc lamp line and enhanced photostability. TAMRA is also efficiently excited by the 543 nm green He-Ne laser, making it well-suited for microscopy and flow cytometry.
